I think sometimes kids need artificial support. That support may seem off at first but consider training wheels, they are removed after a while. Also we support young trees with poles and wires. I say bribe em. I paid my young kids $1 for every book they read. Pretty soon they were little bookworms who didn’t ask for money. By the way, they both ended up testing at college level in reading when they were 9 years old. Training wheels are ok!
